Constructive Masculinity
Take the grammar and spelling with a pinch of salt...
A psychology student did a survey on me about masculinity here is what she got out of me:
--------------------------
There is no concept of what is referred to as constructive masculinity as masculinity in itself is an individual based aspect to a male. As a result thereof all men form their own individual ideal and prospect of what it means to be an ideal man and some even take on rolls of those they suspect of being the most constructive. In general public to be masculine requires certain qualities such as confidence respect valor honor and other such ideals principles and morals however these do not make a man as the views of the public merely influence the perception of men and do not create men merely alter them. This said I do believe that the social ideals take preference for majority of men as they want to be seen in a certain light be this good or bad for example the good being the ideal husband caregiver or bread winner where as the bad are more determined to obtain power that would influence and create fear amongst men of lower stature… I myself do not partake in ether as what defines a man does not define me… I guess I would quote Shakespeare on that one and say “I dare but be a man, those who dare more be not” what this means is that I am a man because I see myself as one those who wish to be more than men or be ideal men are not men at all but merely the puppets to the devices of natural selection.
------------------------------------
As mentioned the ideal form of masculinity is set by society and not by the individual himself… ideally being a man is what I consider myself to be however it is the same ideal that has lead me astray in my past where I had sought to not be a man as I myself was not seen as one but a an abomination… these perceptions were implanted in my life by the very society that would determine what the true nature of a real man is and as a result I turned to my much darker nature and for more or less 7 years of my life lived the monster in me instead of the man, harsh as that may sound it did not make the general public look at me with disgust but with awe instead… this lead me to the conclusion that with such ways where no constraints are applied to my actions and where I was on a pure rampage and blood-lust, that the very society that once looked at me as an outcast then looked at me in my days of chaos as a symbol of what it means to be free and unbound from the rules and ideals that society would impose on all men.
------------------------------------------
The factors that create masculinity is individual sense… this in itself could lead to savagery but in this we cannot deny that not all men are born equal for if we were then there would be no such questions of ideals as there would be none as all men would be on the same level of perfection or imperfection. There would be one standard and no homosexuality for that fact. Therefore in conclusion this is the most fundamental if not only factor that creates what is known as masculinity.
----------------------------------
The factors that create violence in society are on the same basis of communication or the lack there of and violence being the product of such a short coming. That said it could be interpreted as a form of expression. I will use rapist for example. Studies show that men who rape impose their will on their victims and exercise dominance over the vitim. Therefore it could be determined that during their stages of childhood they were ether themselves abused in such a way or dis-empowered by a womanly figure of authority that in their adolescent years they could not stand up to and as a result now exert it in a more aggressive way as it was a bottled up emotion. This is but one instance of how violence is depicted but the core behind violence or its reaction is based on fear. And this I can prove and I will quote myself on this to do so. “Fear is the fabricated art of the mind to liberate violence” an example of the true nature of fear and the products there of can be seen throughout the history of men for example the 2nd world war and or any war for that matter. That which we do not understand or know we will fear and that which we fear we will hate and that which we hate disgusts us and we will ultimately destroy it. This has been the outcome of many cultures and diversities that men did not offer understanding to.
----------------------------
Inter personal male violence… once again this has one main factor and could also be the only factor… what we know as instinct. We often see it portrayed in the animal kingdom and this too is true amongst people. I can just hear the sirens of society go off at me stating that but I of all men have had firsthand experience of what I say and do not waste my time on idle bullshit but believe as I am a man and this justifies my masculinity what I am able to justify also proves the existence of what I say. From what you have read up until now can spark interpersonal males violence with the reasoning of envy in the driver’s seat. Men are not that far off from our animal counter parts nether are females. What we cannot deny is our instincts. For example I myself was a caged animal for many years and I took what society fed me to a point, good and well till one day when I was cornered and what we know is that you do not corner a caged wild animal. From here I retaliated as would any beast and then freed myself of the shackles that I have mentioned before. This too can be seen in social groups such as gangsterism with their constant wars for territory again an aspect of animals and instinct. Where females are concerned. The alpha male gets allfemale and yes that was all females that he so chooses.
-------------------------------
Yes society and upbringing do affect the level of masculinity but once again this is based on how the individual interacts with society which once again brings me back to the statement that not all men are born equal. Some men due to circumstance turn out to be not men at all but once again in all aspects this could not be marked off as the flaws of society but rather the inadequacy of the individual, sure this may seem harsh but reel men don’t rape and that’s a quote from society and real men don’t hit women they don’t do this and that but honestly real men put the blame solely on their own shoulders. Other men due to circumstance choose to escape the mentality and become more than what was handed down to them by their fathers and choose to strive despite their situations this in itself to so a proverb of how circumstance plays a part but does not at all create the man himself but ideally the man himself. I think I have covered all influences that alter the perception of masculinity be they of a social nature and or circumstantial, also not forgetting in the factors of role models. Be they of political or idealistic backgrounds

What would I like to add… hmmm
-----------------------------
There are more than the 2 sides mentioned to who I am where as every normal man purely has but his dark or more enlightened nature… ill leave it to you to decide what kind of man I am but I will say this… there have been moments in my life where “No soft melody can calm the horrific tendencies to pierce soft skin with cold steel” that’s from my book and there have been moments where I have felt a love that would make the realization that love exist without pain a reality… however there has only been one moment where I have been complete as a man… and that’s where I have been alone… Thank you
